Vee grew up listening to The Cure, New Order and Jesus & Mary Chain and taught herself bass. She boldly left high school in her last year & relocated to Southsea, England, where she recorded her first demo with her musical mentor Jim Shaw from the band Cranes. She returned to Canada to form a band, Tuuli, who released an EP on Sympathy for the Record Industry and an LP on Linus/Warner Canada. She led Tuuli as the house band on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” and her songs were heavily featured on Degrassi: The Next Generation.
She released her debut solo EP Die Alone in 2014 and was subsequently discovered by Love who recruited her to play bass for the Endless Summer tour with Lana Del Rey. She has described herself as a "recovering goth", and she has cited The Cure’s Simon Gallup and Joy Division/New Order bassist Peter Hook as her biggest influences on her bass playing, adding "I love adding a texture ... rather than sticking with the root note." She brings this sensibility and style to every line-up.
She has been a FENDER Artist since 2001.
